The Role

This SaaS company is seeking a strategic, growth-focused Senior Airline Analyst to join its Consulting team, reporting to the Airline Analysis Manager. Depending on experience, the position may also include management responsibilities. The role is divided equally between delivering the analysis that underpins the market-leading credit product and supporting strategic projects for key industry stakeholders. Responsibilities

  • Researches, analyses, and updates airline profiles within the company product, ensuring financial, operational, and jurisdictional information is accurate and up to date.
  • Monitors industry news and developments, providing insights to clients through thought-leadership content and project work.
  • Communicates findings effectively through written reports and presentation slides for project deliverables.
  • Produces Operator Risk Assessment reports and conducts quality assurance on reports prepared by junior analysts, supporting their development and ensuring timely, high-quality output.
  • Contributes to the development of methodologies for risk assessment and data analysis within the company product.
  • Conducts market research and performs both quantitative and qualitative analyses, leveraging multiple intelligence sources, including the company’s extensive aviation data sets.
  • Builds small operational models to support analysis for project work.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to deliver components of larger projects within internal deadlines, while independently managing smaller projects to ensure timely delivery and adherence to the company’s quality standards.

Skills and Experience

  • Holds a minimum 2:1 degree in economics, engineering, mathematics, or another discipline requiring strong numeracy.
  • Possesses more than three years of professional experience in consulting or similarly dynamic, analytical roles.
  • Demonstrates strong analytical capabilities and the ability to structure complex problems effectively.
  • Works accurately and efficiently within a team environment and meets deadlines consistently.
  • Shows the ability to organise projects, ensure timely delivery, and communicate clearly with contributors.
  • Has a solid understanding of financial analysis.
  • Understands airline strategy and industry dynamics.
  • Exhibits strong verbal and written communication skills, and excels as a team player and relationship builder.
  • Displays a clear and demonstrable passion for the aviation industry.
  • Is motivated to learn, develop professionally, contribute to team objectives, and pursue high performance.
  • Is highly experienced in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.

Advantageous Experience

  • A candidate with multiple years’ experience across multiple divisions of an airline, or in airline strategy is highly desirable.
  • Further understanding of aviation business, aviation finance, aircraft technology, and sustainable aviation issues would also be advantageous.
  • Financial qualifications such as working towards the CFA would be advantageous.
