This subscription service company is seeking an individual contributor to lead and advance their iOS/Android app—one of its key revenue channels and the primary engagement platform for top-tier customers. This role goes beyond maintenance, focusing on driving innovation through mobile-native features, optimized user flows, and increased in-app engagement, rather than simply mirroring the web experience.
The app owner will work closely with engineering, design, analytics, and architecture teams to deliver high-quality, retention-focused mobile experiences. Backed by A/B testing, user insights, and strong product intuition, this role is central to building long-term customer value, with the mobile app serving as a core component of the company’s growth strategy.
Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Execution - Leads the definition of product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the company’s iOS and Android apps from a native mobile perspective. Owns the entire product lifecycle—from ideation and discovery through delivery, measurement, and iteration. Prioritizes initiatives that enhance app retention, increase order volume, and drive customer lifetime value (LTV). Collaborates with engineering on mobile architecture, development best practices, QA processes, and app store operations.
Mobile-First Innovation - Drives mobile-native product innovation, including features such as push notifications, widgets, deep linking, GPS, camera integration, in-app navigation, and personalization. Partners with design to evolve the mobile experience using platform-native components while preserving brand consistency. Works alongside architecture to ensure scalable, future-proof integrations across both mobile and web platforms.
UX Ownership & Research - Owns in-app user flows, onboarding, conversion funnels, and subscription touchpoints. Uses tools such as Mixpanel, GA4, screen recordings, and usability testing to guide continuous UX improvements. Collaborates with UI/UX design while maintaining final decision authority on product-side user experience. Champions the seamless integration of ML and AI to enhance the overall user journey.
Agile Execution - Acts as the Product Owner for a dedicated mobile development team, responsible for writing user stories, managing the backlog, and leading sprint rituals including refinement, planning, and reviews. Maintains close coordination with architecture and peer Product Managers to manage dependencies and ensure strategic alignment across mobile and web platforms.
Experimentation & Impact - Owns key app performance metrics, including D30/D90 retention, engagement, recency, and revenue-related KPIs. Designs and executes A/B tests and MVP experiments to validate changes prior to broader rollout. Regularly monitors app performance trends and shares insights with leadership and cross-functional teams.
Cross-Functional Partnership - Works closely with teams across Web, Retention, Conversion Rate Optimization, Customer Experience, and Operations to align campaign rollouts and prioritize app-surface initiatives. Ensures the mobile app experience aligns with broader customer journey goals, including email, push notifications, and website interactions. Serves as a mobile product evangelist, sharing key trends, experiments, and learnings across the organization.
Qualifications:
Over 10 years of experience in digital product management, including at least 7 years specializing in mobile apps
Experience with monthly subscription models, preferably within B2C delivery-based products
Knowledgeable in AI and ML, with an understanding of customer interaction with these technologies in online commerce
Proven success delivering native mobile app features that drive measurable improvements in retention and lifetime value (LTV)
In-depth understanding of iOS and Android capabilities and app lifecycle processes, including build, QA, store submission, and phased rollout
Experienced in managing app UX collaboratively with design teams
Proficient in product analytics tools such as Mixpanel, GA4, Amplitude, and experimentation frameworks
Familiar with app-specific constraints and controls, including push notification infrastructure, biometric authentication, and app tracking transparency
Strong collaborator across engineering, design, marketing, and architecture teams
