Personalisation is the way forward

Generic advertising can be a put-off for many consumers, and being able to retain customers as well as bring new ones in is important. A customer-focused approach will make consumers feel like that they are valued. Various online retailers have begun analysing consumer viewing activity to gain an idea of the type of products they like to purchase. Email campaigns provide feedback to the consumer will ensure that they are more likely to shop with the business on another occasion.

Companies that deal with large number of enquiries or messages around the world, have to ensure that they are providing a timely service to their consumers. Online retailers have adopted this approach where a chatbot is able to assist you with any problems you may have whilst roam the website. Chatbot’s are likely to lower overall costs.  For example, if the customer service request cannot be handled properly by the chatbot, a customer can request for human-operator assistance in these systems for more support.

Video Content Is Very Popular

Video content in 2019 was clearly a big hit. They are keeping consumers on social media platforms for longer, such as Twitter and Instagram. They are also influencing consumers when it comes to purchasing products online. 73% of consumers claim that they have been influenced by a brand's social media presence when making a decision on whether to make a purchase. Podcasts have also become very popular online. It could be a key part of your digital strategy this year!

According to Google, 20% of all searches via a mobile device are now made using voice search and it has been widely speculated for a few years now, that almost half (50%) of all searches will be made using voice search in 2020.
